Hi, I thought this looked like a good place to start. I've introduced myself elsewhere as a 29 year-old environmental scientist. I work in air quality, doing a variety of tasks - in office, I can't boast of a lab - including regulation, enforcement, permitting, and inventory projects. A fair bit of research and data processing, at least of late. I decided on an environmental career because I had a love of biology, chemistry, and physics -- and here's one field that ties them all together nicely.
My science-based interests aren't solely tied to my career, though. I am an amatuer astronomer and have been playing around with Stellarium a lot lately (I had to share that software - it's awesome!)
As for online science bloggers, I have a real love for the Science-Based Medicine bloggers (I created a feed called "sciencebased_med_feed" for that, but I haven't yet figured out how to link to that correctly) and Bad Astronomy, of course, particularly since both of those sites regularly encourage skepticism.
Anyway, nice to meet you! I hope this community will be a great place to share articles and have interesting discussions.
